This paper is about soliloquy of Hamlet in Hamlet : Too, Too solid flesh ... – An initiation point of character Hamlet’s journey from flesh to providence. In this soliloquy Hamlet, ‘The Prince of Denmark’ starts his thought process about variety of issue viz. action, revenge, honour, self & ‘flesh’. His hidden desires, his self-centredness, his spiritual sickness, his egotism & perfectionism also surface themselves during this analysis of self & circumstances. This is the point from where he assumes the onus or responsibility of revenge even when his ‘reason’ & ‘perfection’ make him aware of pressing issues & circumstances which are favourable or unfavourable to him; but ultimately he recovers from ‘self, ‘flesh’ to accept the ‘providence’ or grace of God.
