Abstract

Initial Vs. boundary value problems An example of an Initial value problem is given by the second order ODE with initial conditions y(0) = 0 and y′(0) = 1 The difference between Initial and Boundary value problem is that rather than initial conditions being imposed at the same point in the independent variable (in this case, t), boundary conditions are imposed at different values of the Independent variable.
