Abstract

The history of sport probably extends as far back as the existence of people as purposive sportive and active beings. The sports can teach us a great deal about social changes and about the nature of sport itself. Sport seems to involve basic human skills being developed and exercised for their own sake, in parallel with being exercised for their usefulness. Throughout history, games and sports activities have been integrally related to social relations and forces in societies. The performance of the athlete depends on many characteristics. The skill and physical condition play major role but after characteristics such as physiological, games experience can’t be over-looked. There should be proper planning and implementation of the program and the implemented program should be evaluated from time to time so that the best results can be attained. Cultures embody many of the characteristics of their participants and inevitably get drawn into competitions with other cultures. Competition is one of the most basic functions of nature. Those best able to compete within an environmental niche survive.
