FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF FACTORING BUSINESS A STUDY OF IFCI FACTORS LIMITED AND CANBANK FACTORS LIMITED

Abstract

Factoring is a continuous arrangement between a Financial Institution (Factor) and a company (client), which sells goods and services to trade customers on credit. As per this arrangement, the Factor purchases the client’s trade debts including accounts receivable either with or without recourse to the client and administers the sales ledger of his client. The paper is aimed to give an analysis of financial performance of IFCI Factors Ltd. and Canbank Factors Ltd. The present study shows the tremendous growth trend and profitability of IFCI Factors Ltd. in initial years and in last two years it is suffering from losses. In case of Canbank Factors Ltd. it is performed well in whole period except in one year. Growth rate and Profitability of Canbank Factors Ltd is better than IFCI Factors Ltd.
