Abstract

India played a significant part in World War One. However, India’s part in the war is frequently overlooked as a result of the horrors experienced in trench warfare and by Europe’s tendency to home in on battles such as those fought at the Somme and Verdun, which many assume only Europeans fought in. When was broke out in 1914, India was in a state of growing political unrest. The Indian National Congress had gone from being a group that simply discussed issues to a body that was pushing for more self-government. Before the war started, the Germans had spent a great deal of time and energy trying to stir up an anti-British movement in India. Many shared the view that if Britain got involved in a crisis somewhere in the world, Indian separatists would use this as an opportunity to advance their cause.

Abstract

In ancient times in all patriarchal societies the birth of a girl was generally an unwelcome event. Almost everywhere the son was valued more than the daughter. A son was preferred to a daughter because he always remained with his parents, continued the family-line, offered oblations to the ancestors, and above all was a support to his parents in their old age and helplessness. On the other hand, in case of daughter, substantial amount of money had to spend on the occasion of her marriage and the family has to face separation from the daughter after her marriage. Moreover, due to the change in her gotra after the marriage, the daughter ceased to be any direct spiritual benefit to her ancestor or parents. In the later period the ‘Upanayana’ of girls was generally not performed at all. Hence the commentators could not even image that this samskara was even meant for the girls. We have got the existence of educated girls. The heroines included Sakuntala, Rajyasri, Kadambari, Mahasveta etc. of the Sanskrit poems and dramas which mostly deal with the life in royal and aristocratic families were quite grown-up at the time of marriage and education. A Hindu woman, whether a daughter, a wife or a widow has never been denied the use of her property. In Manu Smriti one can see that right to hold property had been respected. Law-givers like Yajnavalkya, Katyayana and Narada further promoted the concept of daughter’s right to property.

Abstract

Although the mobile phone has been widely used for several decades, smartphones are a more recent advance. They are mobile phones that offer not only the standard facilities such as voice and text communication, but also advanced computing and communication capability, including, for example, Internet access and geo-positioning systems. In comparison to earlier mobile phones, smartphones generally also have larger, higher resolution display screens. Most of the newer generation of smartphones also incorporate other features such as on-board personal management tools, high quality cameras and recording devices. Smartphones have now achieved such a pervasive presence in society that users find it easy to self-organise themselves across large geographical areas . Many have adopted a culture where they are 'always connected' to their peer groups, communities of practice and information . The mobile phone provides an essential 'any time, any place' portal into the entire world wide web of knowledge. Such continuous and pervasive social connectivity has important implications for society, and holds a lot of potential in particular for use in education, healthcare and medicine.

Abstract We have analyzed the communication-optimal distributed algorithms for dense linear algebra computations in terms of communication costs and performance improvements. We consider all of the fundamental computations-BLAS, Cholesky and symmetric-indefinite factorizations, LU and QR decompositions, eigenvalue and singular value decompositions and compare the best distributed algorithms with the lower bounds. We considered communication between a fast memory of size M and a slow memory of unbounded size. and track both the number of words and messages that an algorithm moves.

Abstract

1. Introduction Cloud computing promises a new way of provisioning elastic computational resources and software applications by enabling people to have timely access to resources and services with reasonable cost, guaranteed SLA, reduced entry effort and investment. This vision is attractive to research and educational groups in many developing countries where even big academic and research institutions are still lacking resources (and funding for acquiring resources) to sufficiently support their research and education activities. For research and educational groups without adequate computing resources, cloud computing offerings could be a viable solution. However, for their research and teaching activities these groups face not only with common issues in accessing large computational resources and having short time research plans, but also several other constraints in terms of technological infrastructure (e.g., network performance), educational objectives (e.g., mastering advanced technologies developed in developed countries) and economy (e.g., lack of money even for a short research plan).

The CRM software is tools that will allow the company to do this effectively. A lot of companies fail to realize that simply purchasing CRM tools will not be enough for them to reach success. Before the purchase the software, they must take the time to create goals and strategies that the software can help them achieve. As you can see, CRM is a system that is used to build powerful relationships with customers. In most cases, large companies have a "gap" that exists between them and their customers. Many customers view large corporations as being entities that are view them as simply being numbers. The goal of CRM is to destroy this perception. Customers that don't feel valued are very likely to take their business to another company. A number of call centers are comprised of automated CRM systems. The goal of using these systems is to make the company much more efficient. It is expected that this efficiency will lead to a higher level of customer satisfaction. Instead, his aesthetic choices align him with more closely with Dom Moraes and Adil Jussawalla. Of Moraes he writes very fondly in his obituary that Mr. Moraes was alternately attracted and repelled by India1. A feeling of permanently exile in Moraes’ poetry links him with Hoskote.

Abstract

Abstract Foreign policy of a country generally means its relations with other countries regarding all issues of international relevance like peace, disarmament, climate change, human rights, development, justice, deconolisation etc. A state tries to control the behaviour of other states through its foreign policy. According to George Modelski, “Foreign policy is the system of activities evolved by communities for changing the behaviour of the states and for adjusting their own activities to the international environment.” For the study of foreign policy of India, at first we need to know the background conditions or the fundamental determinants which provide the foundations for objectives and principles of foreign policy of India. This paper is examines and analyse the major basic factors which affect the Indian Foreign Policy. Foreign policy making is a dynamic process. Normally, change of government does not change the fundaments of the foreign policy of a state. Why does it normally remain unchanged? It is because foreign policy of a state is determined by a number of factors, many of them are static.

Abstract

This research primarily focuses on the valuation methodologies used to value firms with high and low intangibles as scaled by the total assets of the firm. In doing so a structured positive approach is applied in all chapters to explain the outcomes. Various statistical tools and databases have also been used to support the results and give them a strong base. Chapter two gives a brief overview of valuation literature explaining the different valuation models in practice. Chapter three deals with an exhaustive study of a small sample of twenty-one firms and their analyst reports. Strict investigation of the analysts’ reports reveal that Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model is the most commonly used valuation model across the firms of the sample. However, multiples-based approach has also been used frequently, but DCF supersedes as the dominant model in most of the cases. The analysis is extended to a large sample of 1140 observations in chapter four and involves empirical study to find out the valuation technique that gives the most approximate estimate of price. The mean valuation errors are minimal for the harmonic mean multiple after the REVM model.

Abstract

Credit risk measures the possibility of a decline in an asset price resulting from a change in the credit quality of a counterparty or issuer (e.g., counterparty in an OTC transaction, issuer of a bond, reference entity of a credit default swap). Credit risk increases when the counterparty's perceived probability of default or rating downgrade increases. Five main credit risk measurement methodologies are discussed in this review .Operational risk is defined by the Basel Committee as "the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or from external events." Thus, operational risk can result from such diverse causes as fraud, inadequate management and reporting structures, inaccurate operational procedures, trade settlement errors, faulty information systems, or natural disaster. Credit risk is the next best understood financial risk after market risk and lot of discussion is being done on market risk so we will study Credit Risk in this paper.

The economy of a country is supported by marketing and advertising of goods and services to both children and adults. Although the marketers have focussed on children as targets for decades, two recent trends have developed their interests in children as consumers. Over the time, in the recent years there has been an increase not only in the discretionary income of the children but also their power to influence the decisions of their parents. Also, with the increase in the number of television channels and other digital interactive technologies, there has been an enormous growth in media space for children and their products. Paid advertising to children primarily involves television spots that feature toys and food products. Embedding products in the program content in films, online, and in video games is a result of newer marketing approaches that have led to online advertising and to stealth marketing techniques.

Abstract

In the context of history as an academic field, the word "theory" is more often used to refer to the overarching perspectives we construct while carrying out research. But even in this context we may use the term at different conceptual levels. A fundamental theoretical question concerns the actual nature of historical knowledge: is the past a given quantity that historians should describe as realistically as possible, or is the writing of history a matter of constructing a past that only exists in the form of language and representational images? More concretely, a theory can be a view of history, an opinion about the fundamental nature of those aspects of the past that we wish to present. For example, a historical materialist will be interested in labour, production and the economy, while a structuralist will try to describe common basic structures in language and thinking. Such theoretical perspectives will be decisive with regard to a historian's choice of sources, research topics and view of historical knowledge, but they will seldom be mutually exclusive. In practice, history is a field where pragmatic attitudes to theory prevail.

Abstract

A written constitution is essentially a basic expression of the ideas and organization of a government that is formally presented in one document. In other words, it is a rule book of a nation, codifying rule of law.Constitution is a legal document having a special legal sanctity, which sets out the framework and the principal functions of the organs of the government of a state, and declares the principles governing the operation of those organs. Like every other Constitution, the Indian Constitution also seeks to establish the fundamental organs of government and administration, lays down their structure, composition, powers and principal functions, defines the inter-relationship of one organ with another, and regulates the relationship between the citizen and the state, more particularly the political relationship. The states have reasserted certain principles of law through written Constitutions.
