India was one of economically rich and culturally advanced country in Asian continent from the ancient time. The west, particularly Europe was in contact with India through Iran. Iran during the Akhamanial rule extended her control over Asia miner and not only checked ancient Greece to colonies in Asia miner, but advanced upto the eastern part of Greece. A marathon war continued between Iran and Greece, in which the Greek were checked not to advance in West Asia.
