Abstract

Racial discrimination in South Africa is unique in the world. The black communities in South Africa were against racism and the policy of their government. Identity is the other problem for the black and colored South Africans during the apartheid regime. Apartheid is generally understood as comprising a set of racially discriminatory policies and enforced racial segregation. It covered all aspects of life in South Africa, political, social, and economical. As South Africa has a long history of foreign occupation, settlement and urbanization, this led to an abundant literature of protest, inequality and discrimination under apartheid.
