Abstract

To measure the financial performance and the growth of a business unit, there are various financial tools out of them the ratio analysis is assumed the very powerful tool. This study is purely based on the secondary data collected from the annual reports of the Tata Steel Ltd. The present paper evaluates the correlation of various financial ratios to establish a pattern of relationship that can serve as an empirically supported guide for the financial ratios in business evaluation decisions further. The paper found the existence of correlation among financial ratios and concludes that financial ratios are reliable business status indicators. We, therefore recommend the use of financial ratios to evaluate the financial performance and growth of a business unit.
