Abstract

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is often referred to as the common cold of mental health, with more than 264 million people of all ages suffering from it (World Health Organization [WHO], 2019). It is generally characterized by sadness and loss of interest, which lasts for at least two weeks and is accompanied by cognitive and physical distortions.
