STUDY OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF RURAL AND URBAN AREA HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS OF LAKHIMPUR DISTRICT OF ASSAM

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the academic achievement of rural and urban higher secondary students from Lakhimpur district of Assam. For the study 395 rural and 414 urban students are selected from 35 schools using random sampling method. Comparisons of higher achievers, medium achievers and lower achievers are made between the rural and urban students of higher secondary. Results of previous years are collected for assessment of academic achievements. The result revealed that there is no significant difference between rural and urban higher achiever, medium achiever and low achiever.
