HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND THEIR COGNITIVE STYLES IN RELATION WITH GENDER AND LOCALITY

The key objective of the this study is to discover the cognitive styles that presentt among high school teachers working in Chickballapur district, Karnataka State. 430 high school teachers are taken as sample for this study. These were drawn from 70 high schools located in Chickballapur district. Simple random sampling technique was used in collection of data. For gathering data relating to cognitive styles of high school teachers I used Praveen Kumar Jha’s Cognitive Style Inventory (CSI).Results shown that the high school teacher possess integrated style, split style, undifferentiated style, systematic style and intuitive cognitive style. Results showed that majority of the high school teachers possess integrated and split cognitive styles.
