Abstract

The North-Eastern part of India comprises the eight sister states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. Skill and knowledge are the two driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. The growth of science and technology has a bearing on the transformation of socio-economic structures in different countries and India stands no exception to this phenomenon. This paper seeks to explore the challenges of science education and skill development in North East India. The paper is based on two sets of data: primary and secondary.
