Abstract

Shivarama Karanth a multifaceted personality is a prominent regional novelist in Kannada Literature. With a social concern, Karantha wrote his novels. He was deeply moved by the caste system, restrictions for women education and superstition prevailing in the land in which he was living. In total Karanth wrote 45 novels, all these novels are equally important due to their social concern and strong determination.
