Abstract

The rise of sales and efficiency of semi-autonomous vehicles in recent years, mainly due to impact made by Tesla though other major car and tech corporations like Apple, Volkswagen etc. are not far behind, and the prospect of fully autonomous vehicles poses a threat to our current driver-based accident liability system followed by majority of modern states throughout the world. As such, we wish in this article to analyze possible alternatives to this system to replace the current system that may become the dominant system of distributing accidental liability as the current system becomes unusable due to rise of fully autonomous vehicles in the near future and the moral implications of the change.
