Abstract

Financial inclusion is a critical indicator of societal growth, welfare, and women's empowerment. The Indian government introduced the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana to increase access to financial services. This scheme is mainly aimed at the financially disadvantaged members of society. The research question for this study is, how extant is this scheme helpful in empowering women? Data has been collected from 150 marginalised women of the Mahendergarh districts of Haryana. To analysis, the collected data, Descriptive statistics and one sample 't-test' have been applied through SPSS. PMJDY has a strong positive influence on marginalised women's social and economic empowerment through financial inclusion.
