Abstract

Since the advent of human civilization, the birth of a child, though organic, has been a joyous wonder to humans. A child is not just the carrier of the lineage of blood but also someone who strengthens our belief in the supremacy of nature. As a result, every society celebrates this occasion in its own unique way. Folksongs are an important part of this festivity. In Indian society, particularly in Hindu communities, the samskaras start with the childbirth and in some cases even before that. The samskara is a very complex process. There are many rituals related to them and sometimes they go on for days. If we take birth into consideration, it is a fact that the celebration of birth starts from pain.
