LEGAL STATUS OF LGBT IN INDIA

Abstract

LGBT means Lesbians, gay, Bisexual and Transgender. LGBT are an important identity in our society. They are a vulnerable group carrying a risk of being subjected to discrimination and physical violence. LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trigender and same sex. Lesbian word use specifically for women who are attracted to women and gay word means a person who is attracted primarily to member of the same sex, a person who is homosexual. Trans-gender term normally use for those people who do not identify themselves with their assigned gender at birth or binary gender system. All LGBT are included under Tran-sexual individuals.
