Abstract

Vocational Education has been major concerns in the context of an overall transformation of the educational system in India. “Vocational education can be narrowly defined as teaching and learning of a craft or occupation”. It was playing important role since Ancient time to present scenario. This paper is basically focusing on the role of vocational education and its implications in ancient and present education system. It shows that how character building was the main objective in ancient education system. Teachers at that time were aware of the natural tendency and wanted to point out that character was more important than learning.
