Abstract

The entire communication scenario has undergone a drastic change ever since the popularisation of social media. The codes of formality have changed because chatting on these social apps has become very informal, short and crisp. It is being done for the sake of convenience and also due to paucity of time. Most of the users feel that it facilitates comprehension but certain acronyms, emoticons and WhatsApp jargons may create misunderstanding about the emotions and feelings of the users.
