Abstract

The food startup business is exploding with new ideas, which is helping to improve the global food ecology. Food companies are transforming the sector by incorporating new technology into supply chains, business models, and consumer journeys. Meal Plan is the new addition in this technological revolution. Meal plans are basically similar to on demand food delivery but unlike cooked food they focus to promote to home cooking by providing the required ingredients. India's food business is enormous, ranking sixth in the world. Around 70% of all sales in this area are generated by retail startups. The food and retail business is expected to be worth $ 828.92 billion by 2020, according to projections. With the creation and growth of verticals such as food and grocery delivery, personal chefs, box delivery, and on-demand meals, the food-tech business is fast increasing. This report focuses on the people's awareness and the factors influencing the purchase decision for buying meal plan. The study suggests that the awareness level related to meal plan is very high. The people opting for meal plan are focusing on the packaging and healthy eating options.
