The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. In order to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology, the Government of India has launched the Digital India programme with the vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Digital India as a national programme focuses at providing universal digital literacy and universal accessibility of all digital resources for citizens. To bring an effective transformation, the focus will be on restructuring several existing schemes. The Digital India programme will also ensure that all government services and information are available all the time from any place on any device that is easy to use and are highly secured. The government is focusing to at least make one person per household to be e-literate.
