Abstract

India has been the home for ageless culinary art, having rich heritage of a wide variety of traditional foods. The practice of using traditional supplemental foods (TSF) in the diet of lactating mothers has been in India for ages. These foods are believed to stimulate milk production and unknowingly supply nutrients to meet the additional needs of lactation.
