Novel solution combustion synthesis method was adopted for the preparation of intense blue emitting phosphor SrMgB6O11:Eu2+ phosphor samples. The phosphor samples are in powder form. The solution combustion synthesis method is easy to handle, time saving, and requires comparatively lower temperature. It is based on the redox reaction between fuel and oxidiser. Here, we have used urea as the fuel.
