Abstract

This paper seeks to explore the idea of political economy of reservation in India vis-à-vis Jat agitation. The demand for reservation is increasing with each passing day even among traditionally rich and economically powerful castes. It examines Jat participation in the social, political, educational, and employment spheres and throws some light on the conditions of Jats before and after the Mandal Commission.
