Abstract

A number of experiments, pilot projects and rural business initiatives on applications of ICTs in different sectors have been going on in India during the last two decades. Many of these initiatives have clearly revealed huge potential of ICTs in improving the efficiency, effectiveness and reach of rural (as well as urban) service delivery and ensuring the much needed transparency in government (public sector)and business(private sector).
