It has been realized by most economist and policymakers that the sustainability and growth of Indian economy depends on enlistment of rural sector where large proportion of Indian population resides and has been excluded from the benefits of globalization and liberalization of our country. The immense potential of people living in villages and remote parts needs to be tapped for the growth of economy and in return they shall also be reciprocated by raising their standard of living and ensuring them basic amenities at reasonable cost for their welfare and prosperity. It has been envisaged by the reserve bank of India that the step toward financial inclusion would assist a lot in achieving this objective.
