Abstract

This paper provides an overview of Corporate Social responsibility in India. The concept of corporate social responsibility has gained importance in the recent years. Companies ought to realise that government alone will not be able to uplift the downtrodden society; companies must participate in the welfare of society. Many of the leading 1companies of the world had realised the importance of being associated with society as a means of promoting their brands. This paper study’s the theoretical aspects of CSR. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the CSR status in India and focuses on the findings & reviewing of the challenges faced by CSR initiatives in India.CSR refers to as the corporation’s obligation to all stakeholders. It’s a pedicle from the desire to do well and get satisfaction in return as well fulfilling the obligation of business towards the society. Many companies undertake these activities superficially and promoting highlighting the activities in media.
