CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT – AWARENESS AND SATISFACTION

Abstract

In the past time consumers were exploited by various means. To save and secure the consumers from exploitation various laws were passed. Consumer Protection Act, 1986 provides fundamental rights to protect the consumers from exploitation and unfair trade practices used by manufacturer or sellers. In present era consumers should be aware about these fundamental rights. Consumers can be benefited if they are well aware about these rights and grievance handling process. Through consumer protection act 1986, grievance handling process is very economic and time saving. Consumer protection act provides grievance handling process through three stages- district level, state level and national level. The success of this act depend on the awareness of consumers towards consumers rights and grievance handling process.
