Abstract

This study tries to establish association between guerrilla marketing and traditional marketing. This paper methodically explains the influence of guerrilla marketing on traditional marketing.The term innovation is not just related to innovation in product and technique but the need of the hour is to have innovation embedded in the marketing strategy. Role ofInnovation in making strategy is gaining importance in today’s world which is much more competitive in order to be unique and to grow. Gradually there has been a shift in the marketing strategy. As the consumers have started paying less attention to the traditional marketing campaigns, it has become vital for the companies to come up with new marketing techniques so as to differentiate their marketing campaigns from that of competitor. One such technique is guerrilla marketing- a marketing technique which is more innovative, unconventional, attention grabbing and low cost than traditional marketing. This paper focuses on the meaning, origin, types, needs and certain problems concerned with guerrilla marketing. Paper also includes various guerrilla marketing campaigns launched in India. This paper also tries to study the supplementing nature of guerrilla marketing to traditional marketing.
