Abstract

Mergers and acquisitions are increasingly being used by firms to strengthen and maintain their position in the market place. Mergers and acquisitions are relatively fast and efficient way to expand into new markets and incorporate technologies. This paper provide an overview of the mergers and acquisitions including types of mergers, process of mergers and acquisitions, regulatory implications, strategies for merger and acquisitions, role and importance of HR issues and causes of failure of mergers and acquisition in India.
