Abstract

The use of technology has the positive impact on student’s attitude & achievement but it can actually be harmful to health when not used in ergonomically good environment. Main objective of the study was to compare the ergonomic awareness of college students having optional computers and students not having optional computers. The hypothesis was formulated that the ergonomic awareness towards computer use among students having optional computer is significantly higher than those not having optional computer. For the testing this hypothesis 800 College students were selected studying in undergraduate colleges located in Jhunjhunu district was drawn using stratified random sampling technique. Ergonomic Awareness Questionnaire was developed by researcher. Mean, S.D. and t-test statistical techniques were used for interpretation and analysis of data. Major findings: there is significant difference in ergonomic awareness’s dimensions of computer use having optional computer subject and having not optional computer subject students. As shown mean value of both group have given; optional computer subject students scored more than having not optional computer subject students of college level, it indicated that optional computer subject students have more ergonomic aware about computer use compare to having not optional computer subject.
