AUROBINDO’S CONCEPT OF CULTURE AND NATIONALISM

Abstract

The present paper is an effort to conceptualize the ideas of Sri Aurobindo Ghosh on the Indian Culture and Nationalism. For better comprehension, the paper is divided into three parts. The first part of the paper throws light on the life and history of Sri Aurobindo as his bringing had a great role in shaping of his ideas on Culture , Civilization and Nationalism. The second part which is the soul of the present paper deals with the cultural and Nationalist ideas of Sri Aurobindo which further divided into five sub points: Spirituality & Religion; Literature (Religious, scriptures) & Language (Sanskrit),Aurobindo’s concept of Nation and Nationality;Freedom of Individual and Self Government and Spirituality and Nationalism. The last part of the paper concludes the various dimensions of the present paper.
