FACTORS DETERMINING WOMEN’S WORKFORCE PARTICIPATION IN RURAL INDIA

Abstract

This paper endeavors to study the determinants of participation of Indian rural women, in the age group 20-35 years, in the labor force using data from National Sample Survey’s (NSS) 68thRound (2011-2012). The significant predictor variables are social group, religion, land possession by the family, sex and education of the head of the family.
