The growing incidents of cyber crimes have been seen recently. Many people have been affected in world and in India. This research paper attempts to analyze the impact of cyber crime on Indian economy and level of awareness among people and what are the cyber security strategies of Government. The result of analysis shows that incident of cybercrime and cases have increased. India is ranked 3rd in “malicious activity” type of cyber crime in the world. “NotPetya/Petya” is the latest cyber attack that has been used as cyber-crime on orginasation worldwide. This shows severe impact on growth of economy and more costs to the Indian economy. People have become more aware about cybercrime and therefore, 32000 and more cases of cyber crime had been reported in the country from 2011 to 2015. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are leading states in cyber crimes in India. Government has taken cyber crime as major area of concern and more focused on Cyber Security. Many Cyber cells and Forensic and Training Investment Labs have been set up in states.
