Abstract

The Trade Union movement in Kerala has a long history of growth and struggle. The motivating factors for the origin of the trade unions were the humanitarian and fellowship concerns of the workers. In the first phase, the trade union movement was merely labour welfare organisations rather than a worker’s union bargaining for the rights of the workers.
