Abstract
Globalisation refers to multidimensional set of social processes that create, multiply, stretch and intensify worldwide social interdependencies and exchanges while at the same time fostering in people a growing awareness of deepening connections between the local and the distant. Such social process of interdependence and exchange brought about by globalisation has had greater impact on the population which are isolated, marginalised and traditional. Globalisation thought to be economically, politically and socially homogenising, has resulted into disequilibrium and uneven development across time and space and also within a region. Such uneven development has affected the communities in the interior.
