Abstract

Demographic analysis of data collected in December 2012 of 70 households in Jamuva Ramgarh clearly mentions that the fertility and mortality has a great impact on the population change in any area. The results of the study clearly indicate that the fertility as well sex ratio is higher in Jamuva Ramgarh than the district average but lower than the state average. The study also shows mortality and fertility differentials among the various social group. The Mali’s have high fertility and mortality rate while the Brahman’s have low fertility and Mortality rate. There is an also sex-specific mortality differential in the present study. These trends are discussed in the light of prevailing socioeconomic, cultural and health practices among these social groups.
