Abstract

Tourism in India has expanded its position so rapidly in the past few decades and contributing greatly in nation’s economic development and growth. According to world Travel and Tourism Council, during 2016 it was generated Rs 14.02 lakh crore (US $ 220 billion) or 9.6% of the nation’s GDP and created 40.343 million jobs which accounted 9.35 of the total employment. Uttarakhand, the 27th state of the Republic of India is significantly known as “Heaven on Earth” or “Abode of the Gods”.
