Abstract

The Performance of SEZs can be judged by the capacity of zones to attract investment. These enclaves existed with the point of view that these enclaves play important role in attracting domestic investment as well as FDI. The SEZs with highly improved infrastructure, simplified and quick procedures can act as catalysts for attracting investment. The intention is to attract foreign capital means of leveraging incentives and to us foreign technology and management skill to have an increased export base. Some study reveals that the ground reality is quite different in Indian context. The present research paper makes descriptive analyses on FDI made and FDI proposed in SEZs. This study also investigates reason behind their poor performance to attract domestic investment as well as FDI.
