Abstract

: The Consumer Protection Act was enacted in 1986 to protect the consumers from unfair trade practices. The Consumer Protection Act provides certain rights to every consumer. Every consumer should be aware of the consumer rights and responsibilities. In this study, an attempt is made to find the awareness levels among the people in Guwahati city and their attitude towards any fraudulent practices undertaken by the businessman.
