PERSONALITY OF RURAL SECONDARY SCHOOL IN RELATION TO THEIR TYPES OF SCHOOL

Abstract

The present study is an attempt to find out personality traits of rural teachers working in Govt. and Private Secondary School schools as measured on 16 PF. The descriptive survey method is used for this purpose. The sample for this study consisted of 241 (134 government schools + 107 Private schools) physical education teachers of Haryana state on the basis of multi-stage random sampling technique. For measuring Personality, Cattell’s “16PF”. Questionnaire (Hindi version by S.D. Kapoor, 1970) is used. Mean, Standard Deviation and ‘t’ tests have been used to analyse the data. The findings of the study revealed that there is no significant difference between the mean scores of govt. and private secondary physical education teachers for the factors A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, L, M, N, O, Q1, Q2, Q3 & Q4 factors. From the mean score of these factor it is observed that both the group are reserved, less intelligent, high self-concept control affected by feeling, assertive, sober, staid, socially bold, realistic, suspicious, practical, shrewd, apprehensive, experimenting, group dependent and relaxed.
