Abstract

Every business is conducted with a main objective to earn profit. It has been said that the profit is the engine that drives the business enterprise. The financial health of a business can be analyzed by calculating its profitability. Profitability is the ability of the firm to generate earnings. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the profitability performance through profitability ratios of some listed Hospitals in India. Profitability ratios are a class of financial metrics that are used to reveal the company’s ability to generate profits. The profitability indicators are Gross Profit Ratio, Operating Profit Ratio, Net Profit Ratio, Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) and Return on Total Assets (ROTA). The chosen study period is from 2011-12 to 2015-16. In this paper profitability performance has been tested with the help of a statistical tool F-Test (ANOVA Test) to make the study relevant and draw conclusion.
