Abstract

Azadi portrays vividly the horrors of the Patition, the colossal violence that still haunts the Indian psyche. Azadi succeeds in giving a very convincing and graphic picture of the horrors and paradoxes of Partition experience felt by the people of north-western part of India around 1947.It deals with the political, social, economic, religious, psychological and cultural implications of ‘azadi’
