Abstract

This paper attempts to highlight the dynamics of Indian foreign policy towards Afghanistan in the Taliban political scenario, with the special reference of evolving relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Since the historical background of these countries is same and until first quarter of 20th century they were related to one Indian Territory, and after several partitions they became different countries and hence the basic and initial problems of these countries are common. In this paper I had also discussed the about several problems which are responsible for the several conflict in-between them. This paper highlights Pak factor in Indo- Afghan relations, which has the potential either to stabilize or ruin Afghanistan. Both, India and Pakistan want to establish their presence in Afghanistan to maintain their supremacy over South Asia and to counter each other. In this paper, we have mention about the effort made by Pakistan and India over Afghanistan for their own reasons and benefits. India’s interest in Afghanistan is not only to counter Pakistan; it also includes economic, security and strategic considerations. In this paper, we have also gone through many other aspects, which are also the important grounds for the presence of India in Afghanistan. During Taliban era, US have shown interest to support Pakistan’s interest in Afghanistan’s through which they can control the entire region and in present China is following same footstep to control over South Asian regions. In this paper, we have mention about the policies of US and China toward Pakistan to control over Asia.
