A STUDY ON INDIA’S BALANCE OF PAYMENT

Abstract

India has become the fastest growing economy in the world. The Balance of Payments represents the transactions of economy and plays essential role in determining the position of an economy. Balance of Payment is a statistical record of a business of country. It represents the foreign business of country with rest of the world. Every country can show their progress through Balance of Payment. Result of BALANCE OF PAYMENT show in the form of deficit and surplus, unfortunately India has been facing this deficit or disequilibrium in terms of BALANCE OF PAYMENT. Restrictions on international trade were detached, foreign investments were allowed and a completely new Liberalized Exchange Management System was brought in to garner the benefits of competition. India opted for a very vast approach and at present after having surmounted the initial policies of a newly liberalized economy. BALANCE OF PAYMENT shows strengths and weaknesses of country. It can be affect the economic policies of a government and the economy itself. Our study intends to search the performance and trend of balance of trade. We will study of present situation of Balance of Payment. The data has been collected for last 05 years (2012-2013 to 2017-18). For this study we will use secondary sources. The findings conclude that the balance of trade and Balance of Payments are the important components of Indian economy and these are moving in positive direction.
