RE-SKILLING INDIA: RE-SKILLING FUTURE

Abstract

According to NASSCOM, around 40% of the Indian IT workforce needs to be re-skilled. As per this report, three years ago, the Skill-set considered as necessary in IT sector have became old and out-dated today, resulting in layoffs. Further, technological advancements or innovations are also threatening the jobs as well as businesses, as the businesses and the present workforce are finding it difficult to match the current changes in technology. In IT Sector, the Artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics and block chain are the areas that have brought major changes and should be considered for re-skilling. Re-skilling is the current trend that echoing in the learning organizations that are ready to take initiatives for the existing workforce to build a continuous learning culture. In organizations, not only futuristic tasks need new skills, even the old cognitive and routine manual tasks have undergone changes.
