Abstract

Water on our planet is very important resource for living things. Water availability in India is decreasing day by day. In coming future there will be shortage of drinking water. India is facing complex water problem since independence. The major water disputes in India are Indus River, Ganga-Brahmaputra, Krishna-Godavari and Cauvery. Some legal discussion was adopted by the government to resolve water disputes among states. In this paper we have described the various water disputes in India and mechanism to resolve water disputes.
