Abstract

The study aims to examine the notion of agency that media plays in inter-sectionalism of market and consumer. It has been conceptualized as having dynamic and fluid inter-relation. The study hopes to raise the question whether media can also be taken as an integral component of market for creating as well as mediating market reality, as the Indian market and media is suffused with a narrative of natural products and the business houses are coming out with a distinct narrative of natural food and product and connecting it in most linear way with health promotion. Has ‘Natural’ acquired a status of a new mantra for selling a product? If so, then what is its significance for consumers? These are the question that the study aims to explore.
