Abstract

This article has an attention on the semiotic estimation of contemporary Indian art practice. It takes a principal position that in India, the calculated reaction to contemporary art (painting and visual art) should be perceived for its capability to make progressing understandings, and not only for what it points its likely significant objective to be. The article further accentuates the need to comprehend these new articulations as far as Peirce's idea of the 'Interpretant', against the set up reality that they are generally unmistakable from the customary art rehearses in their goal and reason.
