Abstract

Since the globalization in the year 1991, Indian capital market attracts investors and become an attractive investment destination for international investors. Foreign investment is essential for a country because it enlarges the size of the market and necessary for nation development. Well organized financial market is a main key feature of any country because the economic development of any country is depends upon it. Financial market is a main financial system because it supplies the financial input to the country for the production of goods and services. In the present study we are trying to find out the relationship between Foreign Institutional Investment and the BSE Index (Sensex). This study uses secondary data from the financial year 2000-01 to 2009-10. The study result shows the significant inverse relationship between the FIIs and BSE Index.
